Want to see what being on a swim team is all about? The Mini-Rays program is for children who are water safe, can swim at least 25 feet unassisted and have never participated on a competitive swim team. Open to swimmers 5 - 8 years of age, this is a beginner level program that guides young athletes looking to make the transition from swim lessons into competition. Members will receive in-the-water coaching instruction designed to help them feel confident and individually build their stroke skills. Coaches teach them proper techniques, side breathing, diving ... and provide each one with personal assurance in water safety. And then they're prepared to become Stingrays!
The Spring/Summer session starts April 2 and ends July 14. Practice sessions will be from 3:30 - 4:00, or 6:00 - 6:30, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The coaches will place the children in appropriate classes. Goals for the Mini-Rays include:
· Gaining confidence in the water
· Having fun and loving swimming
· Getting prepared for the swim team through practice and games
· Feeling like a member of the Gold River Stingrays Swim Team
